About Kristof Square Studios |
 |
If you have been to Budapest before you have seen the Kristof Square. A small square, at the corner of the famous Vaci Street, just 50 meters away from Vörösmarty Square, where Cafe Gerbaud is located and Europe's very first Metro line starts. Hotel Mariott and Kempinsky are both just 100 meters away and the river Danube no more than 120 meters. It's 200 meters to the Deak Square where all three metro lines cross each other. Tram 2 takes you along the Danube. Vaci Street and the Kristof Square are for pedestrians only, but a parking garage is very close. You will find a lot of cafes and restaurants in this area with outside tables during the summer. 24 hour shops and internet cafes nearby. You can walk to several gay bars and clubs (all gay bars & clubs are in Pest's center, not on the Buda side). The buiding is a monument that has a facade of tiles.
Its gay owned and gay operated and at check-in we take the time to answer all your general and gay related questions about Budapest. The staff is fluent English speaking and always reachable by mobile phone for assistance.
Both studios have full air conditioning. Upon arrival you get a mobile phone for use during your stay. No charge for the phone and for incoming calls. For outgoing calls you may purchase a prepaid card at check-in (order in advance required!). Towels, blankets etc. are there. You may have your guests at no extra charge. Keys for every guest. At check-in you can get info where to buy tickets for public transport, stamps and phone cards. Safety deposit box in each studio for your valuables (you create your own number code at arrival). Intercom system at front door. Free printed gay map upon arrival.

You need to make reservations in advance. Check-in only on agreement.
Airport
For transfer from the airport you can choose between the 'Airport Shuttle' service, the airport taxi service 'Fo Taxi' and the railway link from Terminal 1. The Budapest airport has 3 terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2A and 2B. Most low cost airlines (e.g. easyjet arrive at Terminal 1).
Both, airport shuttle and airport taxi service will bring you directly to the apartment.
Airport Shuttle: The best price for single traveller. Passengers are taken to the previously requested address by vans with eight to eleven seats. Seat reservations are not needed before arrival at the airport. The Airport Shuttle service has desks in arrival halls at all 3 terminals (after you've passed the custom area). The apartment is located in the city center. The current rate is 2990 HUF for a one way transfer for 1 person from the airport to any address in the city center. It takes appr. 35 minutes, as the airport is in the outskirts. If you already know when you'll need to go back to the airport you may purchase a return ticket for 4990 HUF. For further info please check http://bud.hu/english/passengers/transport_and_parking/by_minibus
Fo Taxi: The best price if you are 2 or more. Prices are fixed for airport taxis. The apartment is located in 'Tarif Zone 2' and your fare should cost not more than 5100 HUF. The fares are the
maximum fares in Forints which Fo Taxi is allowed to charge. The journeys will also be metered, and if the meter shows a lower fare, then passengers will only pay the lower fare. Reservations are not needed before arrival at the airport. The taxis are waiting outside at all 3 terminals (after you've passed the custom area). For further info please check http://bud.hu/english/passengers/transport_and_parking/by_taxi
Railway Link: The railway link connects Terminal 1 with the Nyugati (Westend) train station in the city center. If you arrive at Terminal 2A or 2B you could take Bus 200E to Terminal 1. The ride takes appr 30 minutes and the ticket costs 365 HUF. You may get a ticket at 'Tourinform' at Terminal 1 from 8 am to 10 pm or at platform B at the railway station from the ticket vending machine. The two platforms of the railway station are connected to the Airport Terminal 1 with a
pedestrian footbridge. A pedestrian path of 200 meters takes the passengers from the terminal to the railway station. For further info please check: http://bud.hu/english/passengers/transport_and_parking/by_train
Train Stations
There are 3 different train stations in Budapest: Keleti (East), Nyugati (West) and Deli (South). See the taxi listing within our guide webpage if you like to take a cab from the station.
If you arrive at Nyugati station take the blue metro line until the Deak Square station. From there walk 200 meter or change at Deak Ter to the yellow Metro 1 for 1 stop to Vörösmarty Square and walk 50 meter. You may also ask people for help: Ask for the Anna Cafe or the Aeroflot Airline office, which are both on Kristof Square.
If you arrive at Keleti or Deli station take the red metro line until the Deak Square station. From there walk 200 meter or change at Deak Ter to the yellow Metro 1 for 1 stop to Vörösmarty Square and walk 50 meter. You may also ask people for help: Ask for the Anna Cafe or the Aeroflot Airline office, which are both on Kristof Square.
Car & Parking
The best would be if you get a map. Kristof Square is a small Square which connects Vaci Street and Peterfi Sandor / Besci Street. Next to Kristof Square (2 minutes walk) you will find a guarded parking garage. The fee per 24h is 2780 HUF (appr. 11 EUR). Reservations are not needed.
